SLANDER have been anything but an idle pair throughout the past year in lockdown. In addition to massive collaborations with the likes of Illenium and Krewella, Au5, William Black, and more, the iconic melodic duo has had something even bigger under wraps throughout quarantine. They’ve been secretly curating their first-ever curated music festival and now they can officially announce their debut installment of Starbase.
Pulling back the curtain on the festival’s inaugural line-up, which is set to take place in Charleston, South Carolina from October 8 through 9, the two-day, outer space-themed melodic bass festival invites a star-studded cast of performers to the scenic beach town. Topping the line-up are headliners Alison Wonderland, Big Gigantic, NGHTMRE, San Holo, Subtronics, and of course SLANDER closing out the nights. Perhaps the biggest set of the weekend comes in the form of a debut b2b from SLANDER and Said The Sky, a highly-anticipated performance that was originally slotted for the EDC Las Vegas 2020 main stage.
Also gracing the lineup are standout acts like EPROM, Au5, Midnight T, Opiuo, SVDDEN DEATH, and others. The festival’s undercard presents an all-star cast of rising bass stars as well, including Wooli, Blanke, William Black, Jason Ross, Kompany, Trivecta, Wavedash, and more. Finally, the festival will feature stage takeovers from Heaven Sent and Gud Vibrations, two of SLANDER’s revered labels.
Speaking to the event, SLANDER revealed,
“Starbase was an idea we had a few years back of creating a place where all our artist friends could come together, hang out, and play music for like-minded people. A place where everyone is accepted and loved. A place where you can open your heart, let go of all problems, and rage harder than you ever have before. A place where emotion meets power. We are so grateful this idea is now a reality, and we can’t wait to feel the love that will be generated at Starbase. This is our biggest endeavor yet and our end goal with Starbase is to bring more light into this world. Superhumans, welcome home!“
